Professional Summary
Angie Coleman serves as a Community-Based Rehabilitation Specialist and Licensed Professional Counselor Intern at Visions, specializing in trauma-informed care, EMDR, and art therapy for individuals and families navigating PTSD. Driven by a philosophy that prioritizes resilience, strength, and virtue over victimhood, Angie approaches each client as a unique individual equipped with their own distinct gifts. She believes that every person has the right to choose their path and positions herself as a guide to help clients navigate back to their own journey when they are struggling. Rejecting the daunting nature of traditional clinical assessments, Angie focuses on building strong therapeutic relationships—a skill she initially honed connecting with wine club members in her former career. By ensuring her clients maintain their agency and are treated with justice and nonjudgmental respect, she actively dismantles the clinical barriers that often keep people feeling small.

About Angie
Outside the clinic, Angie's life is deeply anchored in her faith, her family, and the Idaho outdoors. Her core support system includes her husband, her three grown boys, her prayer group, and Bailey, her beloved Vizsla, and her newest addition, Wasa, who joined the family after a dear friend passed. Weekends are usually dedicated to family dinners, cooking new recipes, and hiking the trails with Bailey. A self-described fan of relaxing at Currant Creek, Angie recently expanded her outdoor pursuits by purchasing a raft to take on the whitewater of the Payette River with her sons. Her community footprint is extensive; she serves as a community health worker for Genesis, a WCA promoter, a Cursillo leader, and a spiritual leader at St. John's parish, while also supporting St. Vincent de Paul. Whether she is serving others, spending time with her granddaughter, or just enjoying the clouds while lying in the grass, Angie’s life is driven by the belief that "the sky is the limit, never cut yourself short."

Early Life
Raised in Boise, Angie’s childhood was defined by family-focused activities, camping, hunting, and the freedom to explore the Idaho outdoors. Her earliest standout memories include living in Gigharbor, Washington as a toddler—where a humorous incident involving her father getting bitten by a crab remains a classic family story—and singing along to Eric Clapton over the Narrows Bridge. Eventually moving back to Idaho, her upbringing was filled with ski trips and hiking into the remote beauty of Wildhorse outside of Sun Valley. Her father instilled a strict sense of integrity, often reminding her, "Do not lie, if you do it is difficult to remember what you have lied about, so tell the truth," alongside the practical advice that good grades would provide choices later in life. This foundation of truth and intentionality ultimately led her to pursue behavioral health, a decision guided by prayer and a desire to serve her community in the most meaningful way possible.

Education & Training
Angie’s path to clinical practice is rooted in both traditional education and life experience. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Idaho, where she was involved in Student Council and Alpha Gamma Delta, before completing her Master's in Counseling at Divine Mercy University under the inspiration of mentors like Cathleen Booth and Alan Neighbors. Her understanding of discipline and perseverance was heavily shaped by her athletic pursuits from 2012 to 2014, where she competed in various local triathlons and completed a half Ironman. However, the true reality anchor for her current work stems from her former career as a professional winemaker. Discovering that people naturally opened up to her after a glass of wine, she realized her capacity for deep listening. Following a life-altering illness, Angie recognized a distinct calling to transition into counseling, proving that perseverance, gratitude, and faith can guide a meaningful career shift.
"My vision for the Treasure Valley starts with safety, an essential skill for every person. I focus on equipping my clients with practical situational awareness, helping them evaluate their surroundings and navigate any space with confidence."
Visions Journey
Transitioning from a career as a professional winemaker, Angie completed her practicum and internship at Treasure Wellness before finding her clinical home at Visions to complete her licensure hours. Drawn by genuine and kind initial interactions, she shadowed the team and quickly jumped in as a Community-Based Rehabilitation Specialist (CBRS), providing extended, three-hour support sessions for intellectually disabled and autistic clients. She passed her National Counselor Examination (NCE) in May 2026, solidifying her path forward. Angie brings a unique utility to her clinical work, combining formal trauma training with the interpersonal connection skills she developed in the wine industry. She has proven her ability to carry the heavy weight of community work; while substituting for another CBRS, she supported a highly distressed client who was navigating an unstable, police-involved crisis involving her brother. Angie provided the woman with critical grounding tools and remained a calm, focused presence while the situation was resolved.
Beyond Visions
As she works toward completing her LPC hours in Idaho, Angie is also actively pursuing her Traumatologist certification to eventually assist with disaster relief. Clinically, she is focused on refining her use of Solution-Focused Therapy to better support autistic and developmentally disabled clients. She believes that Visions provides the ideal environment for this growth, offering a supportive, encouraging, and inclusive team that actively helps underserved populations feel heard. Outside of her professional milestones, Angie prioritizes her own spiritual growth and is eager to spend more time whitewater rafting and building memories with her family. Ultimately, she hopes to integrate her clinical mastery and faith by becoming part of a faith-based practice, continuing to advocate for community integration and teaching her clients the essential skills to safely navigate the world around them.
