"There’s a song, “One of the lucky ones” by Michael McLean. This song nails it. I am so aware of my blessings that how can I not care for others? When I see others hurting, tired, struggling through life, I want more than anything to wrap them up and tell them just how amazing they are, how much they have to offer, how important they are. Just to see a smile, I show up to see them smile."

Professional Summary
Felica Duce is the Owner and a leading Clinician at Visions Counseling & Education, where she also serves as a supervisor for counseling and social work interns. Founding the agency in October 2021, Felica brings a highly specialized focus in treating psychosis, primarily schizophrenia—an area she first began exploring in 2016 and quickly discovered was her clinical niche. Acknowledging that psychosis is often the scariest thing a person can experience, she is dedicated to helping clients understand that deep healing and a great, productive life are completely attainable. Alongside her expertise in psychosis, Felica has cultivated a strong passion for working with autistic adults, finding joy in supporting neurodivergent individuals. Grounding her work in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), she treats every adult she works with as the ultimate expert on their own life. Felica firmly believes that every client holds the answers within themselves; her role is not to give advice, but to help them uncover those truths and confidently "learn to fly for themselves."
About Felica
For Felica, nothing is more important than her role as a wife and mother. Her family life is the bedrock of her support system, enriched by the playful energy of two fabulous chocolate labs and a Yorkshire Terrier-Chihuahua mix who regularly join her for camping trips and swimming excursions. When the weekend arrives, you'll find Felica embracing the outdoors—whether she's camping with her husband and dogs, enjoying lunch with her children, or tending to her garden. She also loves wandering around Zoo Boise to enjoy some Dippin’ Dots and admire the animals. A woman of faith, attending temple is a grounding part of her routine. Looking toward the future, Felica harbors a personal dream to travel the world while cooking simultaneously, blending her love for adventure with culinary exploration.

📝 Words To Live By
"Find someone who’s got what you want, do what they do, and you’ll get what they’ve got! You may not be able to control the wave, but you can sure as hell learn to surf it!"
Early Life
Born in Jerome and spending part of her childhood in Hailey, Idaho, Felica’s most formative years truly began when her family relocated to Mesa, Arizona, when she was twelve. She fell in love with the vibrant colors, the unique smell of the desert, and the intense heat of the rain. As the youngest child and the only girl, Felica adored her older brothers and admits to being a bit of a princess—a trait she jokes might still linger. She developed a profound respect for her mother, witnessing a level of grace she had never seen anywhere else. Her father, a Vietnam veteran who survived an explosion during his service, was a deeply influential figure. His openness and honesty about his experiences planted the initial seed for Felica’s desire to help others. He taught her how to think beyond her feelings and how to respect people, often reminding her with a laugh that "opinions are like a**holes... everybody has one and they all stink"—a gritty piece of wisdom she still relies on daily as a businesswoman. Felica’s drive to serve started young; by thirteen, she was working as a candy striper in a nursing home, later becoming a CNA, and eventually participating in Humanitarian Aid work that solidified her calling to the behavioral health field.

Education & Training
Felica earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University, laying the academic foundation for her clinical career. She completed her clinical internships locally at LDS Family Services and the Community Support Center of Boise. While her formal education provided vital theoretical knowledge, Felica strongly believes that the reality of human services can only be understood by simply "jumping into it," noting that while school was great, living life is a far better teacher. Her exceptional work ethic and discipline were not forged in the classroom, but through a lifetime of effort; she has been working steadily since she was eight years old. For Felica, the ability to show up when the work gets heavy comes directly from a habit of dreaming big, recognizing her achievements, and a steadfast refusal to ever give up easily.
"My Vision for the Treasure Valley is that everyone will have someplace to turn in times of turmoil, pain, and addiction. People will know that they are valued, that they mean something and have incredible purpose and potential."
Visions Journey
Before founding Visions Counseling & Education, Felica spent years starting and owning other mental health agencies. Over time, she realized that in many traditional settings, clients were increasingly treated like just another job or a stack of paperwork. Driven to create an environment where the human sitting across the room is deeply valued, she established Visions—penning its foundational mission statement directly from her heart. She brought with her exceptional legacy skills in interviewing and relationship-building, paired with a firm rejection of systemic clinical rigidity. Felica strongly opposes a "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy, reminding her team that clinical theory is an incredible idea, but it should never override the unique reality of the individual. The intensity of behavioral health is a daily reality at Visions, where clients frequently arrive in mania or crisis. Yet, Felica finds her resilience by watching her team consistently rise up to conquer those challenges. To sustain herself in such a demanding role, she has learned the essential boundary of leaving the heavy, painful discussions at the office, allowing her to go home and focus entirely on gratitude, her faith, and her family.

Beyond Visions
Looking beyond the daily operations of the clinic, Felica’s ultimate goal is to disrupt the mental health field in the Treasure Valley with such unignorable force that insurance companies and the government are forced to stop, pay attention, and recognize a model that actually works. She is actively learning design, finance, and business-building skills every single day, seeking mentorship from top leaders to realize her vision of building a truly safe, sober community. Clinically, she is continuously sharpening her expertise in crisis intervention and management. She's building Visions Counseling & Education as an agency that refuses to accept poverty, limitations, or systemic restrictions as the final answer. By teaching fiscal responsibility and restoring confidence, she knows Visions has the power to impact thousands of lives, proving that when one person grows stronger, entire communities elevate alongside them. Her greatest personal aspiration outside the office is simply to become the healthiest version of herself possible.
